Supported ginger & turmeric seeds to the farmer’s group
Promoting inclusive & market oriented spices value chain development project made available the ginger and turmeric seeds on the basis of farmer’s group demand, the project has started to provide seeds from March 23 to 29, 2026. Total 1500 kg of ginger and 1600 kg of turmeric seed were provided to the 9 farmer’s group of Myagde rural municipality of Tanahun district. Altogether 257 farmers benefitted from the ginger and turmeric seeds. Beltar farmer’s group was from ward no. 3, Kurlechuar, Ghumti and Chimliswara farmer’s groups were from ward no. 4 and Mul Barahi, Akala A, Akala B, Kerabari and Sarbalang farmer’s group were from ward no. 6. The seeds were brought from Pokhara and Chitwan consultation with the concerning experts. Besides ginger and turmeric seeds Trichoderma also was provided to the farmers for seed treatment, so that leaf spot and rhizome rot diseases of ginger and turmeric can be prevented. The project staff provided technical supports during seed sowing, mulching and growing time, so that mulching could be appropriate and diseases can be controlled on time.
