Celebrated 54th World Environment Day in Pokhara

54th World Environment Day celebrated in Pokhara the capital city of Gandaki Province on 5th June 2026. The theme of the world environment day was “Climate Action”, means the planet doesn’t argue. It doesn’t negotiate. It sends signals—rising seas, raging wildfires, heatwaves, melting glaciers. We said 1.5°C was the limit. We are crossing it.

The World Environment Day was organized jointly by Team Organizing Local Institution (TOLI), Nature-Human Centered People’s Movement Nepal (NHCPM), Himalaya Eye Hospital, Himalayan Boarding School, International Mountaineering Museum, Himalayan Museum Tol Bikas Sanstha and Himalayan Museum Mother’s Group. The event started from Himalaya Eye Hospital with cleaning the hospital premises, then after it cleaned Munal street, Museum and Himalayan street respectively. During that period environment related slogan also were spoken to aware the community people like clean regularly the house premises, handover clean and healthy environment to our next generation, reduce pollution and longer our life, avoid dust and smoke, save the eyes and so on. Before commence the event, Mr. Padma Kiran Rana the chairperson of TOLI welcomed all the participants and briefed the details of the program. After completing the cleaning activities, the procession was gathered in the conference hall of the Himalayan Boarding School to watch video named “how the human being developed” and “climate change and its consequences” as managed by Mr. Bindu Raj Sapkota the chairperson of Nature-human centered people’s movement Nepal. At the end of the video show, Mr. Govinda Kafle the principle of Himalayan Boarding School thanked to all the participants and the chairperson Himalayan Museum Tol Bikas santha Ms. Chandra Gurung concluded the gathering.
