Ms. Rie Iimura the ex-JOCV volunteer met TOLI staff

Ms. Rie Iimura the ex-JOCV volunteer (1997-2000) met ex-JICA/JOCV staff of TOLI on October 25, 2025 in Pokhara. Mr. Thakur Giri received her in Pokhara International Airport (PIA) at about 7.30 AM. The first visit was in Sarangkot hills to see the mountains like Annapurna ranges, Fewa Lake and panoramic landscapes. Second visit was in VDC secretary of then Triveni VDC, Mr. Thaneswor Pandey, who was in Malepatan Pokhara. We met all the family in his home and remembered many of the past events. The Pandey families surprised meeting a Japanese friend after 25 years in Nepal. Thirdly, we met with Ms. Basanti Pariyar then monitor and promotor team (M/P) of Thulipokhari site office Parbat and exchanged various old memories. Fourthly, met ex-JOCV/JICA staff of TOLI presented in Pokhara. On that time, Mr. Durga Bahadur Shah ‘Baba’ the advisor of TOLI, Dr. Shrijan Gyawali advisor of TOLI, Mr. Bishwa Paudel, then M/P team of Sirubari Bhangara, Mr. Guna Kumar Shrestha then M/P team of Thapathana, Mr. Thakur Giri then JICA Forestry Assistant, Mr. Chet Nath Tiwari, then office assistant of TOLI and Mr. Padma Kiran Rana then Field Manager of TOLI were presented. During that period Mr. Padma Kiran Rana the chairperson of TOLI welcomed to Ms. Rie Iimura and thanked her giving such opportunity of meeting with the TOLI ex-JOCV/JICA staff. Mr. Rajendra Ligal then Engineer of TOLI, Ms. Saraswoti Karki then M/P team of Arba Bijaya and Ms. Maya Gurung then motivator of Sirubari could not meet due to their busy schedule. From 4.15 to 5.30 PM visited the the Damsite and Fewa Lake areas including then JOCV dormitory and Hotel Monalisa. Mr. Padma Kiran Rana and Mr. Thakur Giri were accompanied her during whole day in Pokhara visit. Finally, Mr. Thakur Giri took her in PIA and see off at 6 PM.
